inlet

i stare out at the water fighting for calm in an onslaught of forces beyond its control creating ripples, echos, waves, disturbing the tranquil nothing of this place second after second the water tries to restore its balance its peaceful orchestra of silence and calm no matter the change forced upon it from this infantile world around it, a world encompassing it with unforgiving change a world filled with relentless ignorance of the waves it creates the water still searches for center, for calm, for normal unimpressed by the flashy show of the peacocks above unmoved in mind as its body stirs and distorts it remembers it will always find its calm i wish i was more like this inlet i wish i knew i would find my calm
